Is the X4-LRF™ ITAR restricted?
Yes, the X4-LRF™ must be sold to US Persons within the USA. (Coming soon: X4-LRF non-ITAR restricted version)
Where is the X4-LRF™ made?
Designed, Engineered, and Manufactured in the USA.
What is the difference between the X4-LRF-2K and X4-LRF-15K?
The 2K utilizes a 905nm commercial-grade laser. The 15K utilizes a 1534nm military-grade laser and is not detectable by night-vision devices. The 15K is quicker at taking ranges and ranging smaller targets than the 2K. Additionally, the 15K can take ranges more reliably than the 2K in adverse conditions such as fog and smoke.
What is a laser rangefinder?
A laser rangefinder is an electronic device that uses a laser beam to determine the distance to an object.
What ballistics does the X4-LRF™ support?
The X4-LRF™ ballistic engine supports the vast majority of bullet and weapon types on the market.
I don't want the X4-LRF™ to transmit anything. Can I disable the network systems?
Yes. The UWB and Bluetooth® systems can be completely disabled.
Does the X4-LRF™ have an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) radio?
The X4-LRF™ has an UWB radio allows which allows it to host a personal-area, secured, encrypted network for wireless accessory communication (coming soon). The radio is OFF by default.
What type of display is available on the X4-LRF™?
OLED Display
Do I need a phone or computer to use the X4-LRF™?
No. The X4-LRF™ has been designed to run standalone without ever needing to connect to another device or the internet. However, some of the more advanced configuration options are only accessible via a phone.
What does "Class 1" mean?
Class 1 lasers are low powered devices that are considered completely eye-safe.
Does the X4-LRF™ come with batteries?
Yes, it comes with a rechargeable CR123 battery.
Can I use the X4-LRF™ in hand held mode?
Yes, using the included ironsights.
What body color options are available for the X4-LRF™?
The X4-LRF™ comes in Flat Dark Earth (FDE). Coming soon: Black or Olive Drab (OD) Green options. Note: The body is Type III Hard Anodize Finished - individual color shades may vary.
What is a 1534 laser and how does it differ from a 905 laser found in most commercial range finders?
A 1534nm laser is eye safe at higher power levels than a 905nm laser, increasing its effective range for longer-distance targets. Additionally, the 1534nm laser offers the advantage of being undetectable by traditional night vision devices, enhancing its covert capabilities and is a preferred laser rangefinder wavelength for military systems.
Can I utilize the X4-LRF™ ballistic solver if I don't have an X4-FCS™?
Yes.
What environmental variables does the ballistic solver use?
The X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ ballistic solvers utilize temperature, humidity, pressure, pitch, roll and heading from the onboard sensors. Wind is utilized but must be manually entered (Kestrel compatibility coming soon).
What weapon and ammunition types are supported?
The X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ ballistic solvers support the vast majority of bullet and weapon types on the market.
What ballistics solver does the X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ utilize?
Applied Ballistics
What temperature ranges can the X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ handle?
The operating range is -40° F to 140° F (-40° C to 60° C), subject to appropriate temperature-rated batteries.
Are the X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ waterproof?
The X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ are designed for submersion in 3 feet of water for 30 minutes.
