Designed and manufactured in the USA for optoelectronic system integrations, the Hydra-25™ couples high-energy, diode-pumped, solid-state laser transmitters with high-gain, low-noise APD photoreceivers to provide highly accurate and reliable range-to-target information to their host systems.


Weighing only 175 grams and consuming less than 165 cm of volume, the best-in-class Hydra-25™ provides accurate 10 Hz ranging of targets up to 25 km away while requiring minimal system power.


The Hydra-25™ module includes Maztech’s reliable, lownoise, high-gain APD photoreceiver that offers best-inclass sensitivity, allowing for long range performance with less laser pulse energy and lower power. To allow optimal APD bias at all operating temperatures, the Hydra-25™ module includes automatic APD bias temperature compensation that is calibrated at the factory.
