Production Planner

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Production Planner to support our growing manufacturing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, manage, and optimize production schedules to ensure the timely and efficient manufacturing of advanced electro-optical and firearm-integrated systems. This includes coordinating materials, resources, and workflow across departments to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Maintain Production Schedules

Create detailed and realistic production plans that align with company goals.

Continuously monitor production progress and make real-time adjustments to accommodate shifting priorities, capacity constraints, or unexpected disruptions.

Coordinate Materials and Component Availability

Work closely with and support procurement efforts to ensure all necessary components are available to meet build schedules.

Proactively identify shortages or delays and drive corrective actions to keep production on track.

Monitor Production Progress and Performance

Continuously monitor the status of all active jobs to ensure production remains on schedule.

Review completed jobs to ensure productions standards are being met.

Capacity & Resource Planning
-
Analyze current and future production capacity, taking into account staffing levels, machine availability, and cycle times.

Collaborate with leadership to ensure adequate resources are in place to meet near- term and long-term production goals.

ERP System Management
-
Utilize and maintain ERP systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date data related to scheduling, material availability, and jobs.

Update and maintain accurate BOM (Bill of Materials) information within the company's ERP system.

Inventory and WIP Management

Maintain a clear and accurate understanding of inventory levels across raw materials, subassemblies, and finished goods to ensure production continuity without overstocking or excess carrying costs.

Ensure components and assemblies are being consumed accurately into jobs thus maintaining accurate inventory levels.

Support New Product Introductions & Revisions

Collaborate with engineering team to integrate new products into the production schedule, including pre-production builds.

Work closely with engineering teams to transition revisions of existing components and assemblies into production.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

Analyze flow of product through manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Cost Reduction:

Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising product quality.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field

Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience in CNC Machine Shop and/or Electronics Assembly facility.
